Why say yes to a green office building?

The concept of green building in our region is still relatively unknown. The project of first green office building in Bratislava named BBC 1 Plus is therefore an important milestone for sustainable development in Slovakia.What are the benefits of their prospective users? The following article provides answers in the form of a brief selection of the main reasonscited by U.S. Green Building Council USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council).

1. Investments into the green buildings reduce operating costs

Green certificates evaluate objectively measurable and comparable parameters. In the world were increasingly seen the fact that green buildings obtain much easier the planning permission, but also new tenants.

Companies that think practically now see the benefits of sustainable projects. Number ofinquiries on rent in new, modern office space with attribute "green" is growing constantly. According to the study of CoStar Group in 2008 have green buildings with the certificate LEED by 4.1% higher occupancy than other buildings.
