Signify Beautifies Memphis Bridge and the Big River Crossing with Connected LED System

With nearly 10,000 individually controllable light points, the installation is touted to be the first-of-its-kind connected LED lighting systems. The lighting of both the Memphis Bridge and Big River Crossing can be remotely monitored from a single dashboard.

By integrating the Big River Crossing and Hernando De Soto Bridge, the new lights are going to reinvigorate the attention and imagination of millions of people and thousands of cities around the world about the iconic Memphis riverfront.

The architectural lighting fixtures used are specially designed to tolerate harsh weather, excess vibration due to fast moving automobiles, and an increase in the temperature. One of the most important aspects of architectural lighting is to create a breathtaking layout that is also incredibly energy efficient. The new lighting fixtures installed at the bridge successfully achieve both.

The LED technology used in the installation can produce more than a billion colours in a variety of beam angles, enhancing the look and style of every truss and cable on both bridges in a spectacular fashion. The LEDs can also produce hundreds of possible light distribution patterns and configurations to create static or fluid displays with animated colour shows.
