Veolia brings a unique electricity sharing project to Petržalka

Veolia Energia Slovensko Group has launched a pilot project for sharing electricity from renewable sources. The first client of the new service is the Bratislava-Petržalka district, which has been the group's long-standing strategic partner in the production and supply of heat within the centralized heat supply (CZT) system.

Veolia brings a unique electricity sharing project to Petržalka

Shared electricity will be provided by two elementary schools
The aim of this unique project is to streamline the supply of electricity to the city district's consumption points and optimize its price by utilizing synergies with the operated photovoltaic sources.

In the initial phase of the pilot project, the electricity that is the subject of sharing comes from a pair of small rooftop sources with an output of 2 x 10 kW. In practice, this means that the photovoltaic sources located at the Petržalka elementary schools of Černyševského and Dudov will share electricity with other consumption points in the city district at those times when they do not consume the entire electricity production from the solar panels.

The sharing process is provided by the Veolia Energia Slovensko group, while it is guided by the sharing requirements defined by the client - the Petržalka city district.

Innovative solution with a positive impact on the ecology and the budget of Petržalka
The new service is in line with current trends in the European electricity market and at the same time reflects the latest changes in Slovak legislation related to the transposition of the European Union (EU) Clean Energy for All Europeans legislative package. This is the launch of an innovative business extension to the standard product of bundled electricity supply, which the group wants to further develop and offer to all its key business partners in the future.

Electricity sharing is a tool that strengthens the principle of decentralization and greening of the energy sector - on the one hand, it brings more options for working with a photovoltaic source for an active consumer, and at the same time it is fully in line with the principle of geographical convergence of the place of electricity production with the place of consumption, and therefore reducing the costs of consumed energy.

The electricity sharing project will also be available in other cities
In the coming months, the Veolia Energia Slovensko group plans to further develop the electricity sharing service and offer it to other business partners, primarily in locations where the group operates either as a heat supplier within the framework of district heating systems or as a comprehensive service provider (electricity supply, operation of local infrastructure, facility management).

The main intention is to bring added value to clients and thus optimize their overall energy supply costs. The Veolia Energia Slovensko group provides clients with a comprehensive energy supply, i.e. combined electricity and gas supply, assumption of responsibility for deviation, procedural provision of electricity sharing, purchase of electricity from small and local sources, etc.
